The defining feature of the style of the project is a curved line resembling a wave. We combined refined colors, textures, as well as the fluidity of the form, where fancy bends visually merge with the architectural elements of the hall structures (or stage). The principle of soft transitions also forms the basis of the audio component composition.
The dramatic basis of the performance is the Cantata “Triumph of Water”. It is written for two soloists (violin and soprano) and string orchestra. The cantata contains 7 parts: 1 - Stream, 2 - Depth, 3 - Sun glare on the water surface, 4 - Storm, 5 - Birth of life, 6 - Clouds, 7 - Hallelujah to the water. Stylistically musical fabric combines neoclassicism and minimalism.
Each solo voice has its own figurative and dramatic load. Violin - a personification of the observer. This one with whose “eyes” we observe of the element water, who plunges into this element and interacts with it. Soprano - symbolizes life itself. The birth of life in the element water, becoming and heyday - up to gaining the Word. Of the Word, that singing the praise of the harmony and the beauty of water. Sound clusters are organically woven into the musical fabric. This ratio of sounds of different frequencies conveys the code of the element water. Its performance by orchestra artists creates a soft transition between parts of the cantata. Returning constantly the viewer to the original harmony of water.
The audience’s first contact with the space of performance is through the perception of an exhibition of artworks (watercolor paintings and decorative compositions) in combination with the sound of the surf. Gradually, artists of the orchestra appear and sound clusters are added. When the sound reaches its maximum filling projections of video collages based on watercolor paintings appear on the walls and floor of the hall. They complete the opening part of the performance.
The appearance of ballet dancers reveals the theme of water through the plastic of the body. Ballet is both the water itself, and the creatures that inhabit the element, and a rethinking of the states of water through the emotions and the body plastic of a person. For the embodiment of the plastic drawing of the performance, the style of Contemporary was chosen. This direction of modern ballet combines the spontaneity and improvisation of existence (nature of water) and strict adherence to the dramatic pattern.
Ballet dancers exist in the designer collection of dresses. On the one hand, dresses combine the airiness and fluidity of textures with the smoothness of the lines of the visual series (watercolor paintings, video art collages, ballet plastic). On the other hand, each dress carries an image and character that reveals different states the element water.
All components of the project are made of natural materials. And they are based on the humanistic idea of harmony and a comprehensive triumph of life.
Getting into the space of our performance, the viewer plunges into a state of calm and harmony, appearing as if in the kingdom of Neptune-Poseidon. The effect of presence is achieved by the smells of the sea coast (wormwood, heather) and the sounds of the surf.
The main source of inspiration for our project is the theme of the rebirth of Beauty from the sea foam. The birth of Aphrodite, the birth of Beauty from water and air - this is the Greek understanding of the formation of the world, the concept of Beauty, based on the principles of harmony.
We represent the combination of two sources of the germ of life - water and air. This understanding is embedded in our subconscious through the philosophy and culture of the Ancient Mediterranean World (AncientGreece and Rome).
Our main message is the appeal to the heart and feelings of a person through emotions. Therefore, we employ all the receptors for the perception of the world by man. These are the following: visual; tactile; olfactory; sound.
The demonstration of the project will be accompanied by sound and the smell of the sea, sea grass and shells.

The basis and characteristic feature of the director’s decision is the combination of various aspects of art and design in one project. These are music, painting, fashion design, choreography, video art. Through music, combining material and non-material, I wanted to convey the versatility of the element water - fluidity, lightness, strength. Music is a connecting element between all components of the project.
