The art duo of Jane Chepell and Francesca Fiore was organized several years ago. It combines an artist-watercolorist and designer of knitwear. Jane Chepell has exhibited internationally and in solo Exhibitions & Art Fair. Francesca Fiore carries out an ingenious examination of knitwear and explores their possibilities. She creates the art and fashion objects from adorable and precious materials such as cashmere, mohair, silk, pearls, gems and minerals. Jane and Francesca are united by a passionate love for the nature and culture of the Mediterranean. They are inspired by the divine beauty and perfection of color transitions and the exquisite texture of the “living” surfaces created by Nature.
The contemporary art project is a collection of art and design objects from different materials such as watercolor, silk, cashmere, mohair, natural shells and pearls. At the heart of the project's style is a curved line resembling a wave. It combines exquisite transitions of color and texture with the fluidity of the form sea foam.
A unique feature of the project is the author’s mixed technique which combines watercolor and textile fibers. Such fibers as extra fine mohair, silk and cashmere allow to create an additional 3D surface and to transform a flat 2D image into a 3D object due to his fluffy-effect. In addition this “over”-structure gives a complex light-shadow effect, repeatedly amplifying color and light transitions, creating sophisticated color clouds over the watercolor surface.
The sources of our inspiration were: Sea foam; Shells and pearls; Sea waves and sand; Gems and minerals; Mediterranean landscapes and Legends and Myths of Ancient Greece.
Regardless of how difficult the civilization developed, nature's elements return us to the divine beauty of natural materials. The precious pearls, refined mother-of-pearl, gentle mohair and cashmere in combination with watercolor allow not only to get visual satisfaction from the soft transitions of natural colors, but also to feel the softness and velvet tenderness of the ideal surface.
The visual range of our project consists of watercolor paintings and their projections on the ceiling, walls, and floor. This projection is in slow motion, repeating the movement of water and light below the surface of the sea.
My paintings are dedicated to the sea and water. We would like to immerse the viewer under the surface of the sea through the projection of paintings and their contemplation.
To give the viewer a sense of calm, peace, tranquillity that reigns in the underwater world. For this, I use complex color transitions, lighting effects that give us a sense of the movement of water above us and around us. The slow projection movement also enhances absorption. The paintings contain watercolors on special paper, which in itself is soluble in water and gives subtle color and light transitions that no other material can transmit. This is the fineness and transparency of aqueous solutions deposited on the paper.
In art, watercolor is a unique graphic, inimitable by the author himself, as well as those impressions that we get from interacting with the sea element. Images of shells and sea creatures inspired me in this work.
The stylistic decision was chosen by the Abstraction consciously in order to enable the viewer to think through what he saw and connect with his personal feelings, emotions, sensations from the sea.

Water and Air – these two sources of life – connecting together, form a foam, which, hugging you, gives an unforgettable tactile sensation: contact with the life-giving source itself. A creative feature of this project is the designer's decision to combine thin weaving foam from mohair with watercolors.

Tactile sensations from the touch of seafoam give us another side of the perception of perfect beauty and sensual knowledge of the world, awareness of the harmony of the Universe at a deep level.

Mohair, cashmere, and silk foam, from which dresses are woven in contact with the skin, raise our perception of beauty and harmony to the highest level. The materials that have been chosen are, first of all, natural materials, living matter: cashmere, mohair, and silk fibers. Creating maximum tactile comfort, we use natural silk thread in the hot period (it cools the skin) and cashmere with mohair in the cool period (they warm us).
The shape and structure of dresses follow the form and texture of sea waves, shells, and anemones.
On the one hand, the designer collection of dresses combines the airiness and fluidity of textures with the smoothness of the lines of the visual series (watercolor paintings, video art collages, ballet plastic). On the other hand, each dress carries an image and character that reveals different states the element water.
